Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together…..let us encourage one another.
I have a favor to ask, not just for me but for any blogger you read regularly or even those you don't but find a post interesting. Many, probably most, bloggers post as they feel the need and as they are encouraged by readers. I know for me, I write a post when I need to examine a passage from the Bible, or when I need to share something I've discovered, or when I need help understanding something. There is no real accountability to anyone for a blogger to post something (unless they are being paid)....so over the last few months, I haven't written many posts. If there is no other reason besides self, writing a post seems.... unnecessary for lack of a better word.
I've discovered that people, me included, visit blogs and never read them. We visit sites for pictures, diagrams, sketches to use for whatever we might use it for. (I sometimes use images from other sites for my posts as you may have noticed.) So what I'm saying is just because the number of visitors to my site doesn't mean anyone actually reads a post.
As for the favor, when you visit a blog, any blog, and enjoy an article, make a comment - anonymous is fine! If there are built-in buttons for like, dislike, etc, use them. Another way to encourage your favorite blogger is to share it via Twitter, Facebook or other tools that may be on the blog. I have a couple of friends who read my posts. Their words of encouragement are God-sent pats on the back that help keep me accountable to writing. THANK YOU, friends. You know who you are!
It's also fun to have a conversation via the comment section. If you want a conversation, you can't post anonymously though. I added a section at the bottom of this blog for asking questions. I hope that will add some interaction. That takes signing in too and can't be anonymous.
These are bits of encouragement that will help your favorite bloggers remain active and feel accountable to the readers. I'm not asking for something every day, or even every week but a bit of encouragement every so often is wonderful to keep me going. Thanks to everyone who reads my blog. Thanks to all the others who just visit for images. I hope that some people are encouraged, enlightened, even drawn closer to Christ through some of my posts.
Praise God in all you do today. You will be richly blessed. Amen.
