Well, I finished the Chronological Daily Bible.
I also finished another 365 devotional. Now I'm trying to get into a new habit. Well, not exactly a new habit, just new material. It feels a little disjointed since the materials I am using aren't dated, or even meant to be used for daily devotions. I need to make sure that what I'm reading includes a lot of scripture. It is important that I read God's words along with the opinions of other - which is what most of the materials I'm using are, opinions and experiences of others. \God certainly uses others to reach us but we have to know the Bible if we want to get the right message from God.
I truly believe that God has unique and specific plan and message for me, individually, as well as a universal message for all. There a just too many issues that have sides that are diametrically opposed to each other that Christians believe they have been called to do. For example, I believe that one person can be called by God to protest war, while another can be called by God to be part of that war. The war isn't the real issue, it is the relationship with God that is the issue. God uses whatever means He finds necessary to meet us where we are individually. That's why one person can be called to perform abortions while others are called to protest against them. God has different purposes for those involved. This idea makes it easier to not judge, and to be more civil to those who opposed me. God loves both us us and is meeting us where we are, to do HIS purposes, for HIS glory. He wants our obedience not some issue resolved. After all, He could resolve any issue without our help, if He were to decide to do that.
I also started to "work out". I am a member of a gym - for 90 days. I'm hoping to add some tone to my muscles - after I find them. I've actually gotten out of bed two days in a row early to go make my muscles hurt. Don't get me wrong. I don't really push it too much. I want some muscle tone, not ripped biceps. They are having a biggest loser game - I don't imagine I'll lose any weight so I don't think I'll donate $10 to the winner. I also walked my dog both days. He's happy about that.
I'm still working on that project with my friend. I'm also writing a paper for a talk I'm giving sometime between the end of January and mid March. Actually, I'm giving the talk 2 times between those dates. I'm just not sure when. We're starting another Bible Study this evening.
All in all, I'm really excited about all that's going on right now. I'm hoping God is pleased also.
God of everything, I praise You for who You are and thank You that You want a relationship with me. Thank you for giving me ways to know You and experience You. Your ways are not my ways and I think You for that. amen.
