Isaiah 54: 8 In a surge of anger
I hid my face from you for a moment,
but with everlasting kindness
I will have compassion on you,"
says the LORD your Redeemer.
God turns away from us, much like a parent might do with an unruly child to gather her composure before acting out of frustration or anger. Instead God turns away from us to count to ten so that He remembers we are weak and sinful. He turns from us because He loves us and doesn't want harm to come to us. He turns to give us time to come back and remember who He is and that He has compassion on us. Thank You, God.
9b "So now I have sworn not to be angry with you,
never to rebuke you again.
A promise of God. That though He has good reason, He will not be angry with us, that he will look upon us with forgiveness. This is a promise to hold onto, no matter what we've done, or how we provoked God. That God loves us and forgives us NO MATTER WHAT! Hallelujah!
10 Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,"
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
Regardless of the circumstances, God's loves is unfailing. He grants us his covenant of peace, which will NEVER be removed. Those who do not love God have a hard time understanding this peace. This peace is one of God's greatest gifts to us. We can feel peace during any type of chaos or crisis. God gives us peace to withstand the storms that come our way, that we invite intentionally or unintentionally. I Praise You, God, and Thank You for Your great compassion that grants us peace.
13 All your sons will be taught by the LORD,
and great will be your children's peace.
Our children can have this eternal peace also. They can be lead and taught by God Himself. We give them to God and He teaches/reaches them. His teaching and instruction might include some harsh consequences to the choices they make, like experiencing HOT when touching the glass on front of the oven but God will give our children peace if we give them to God. What a wonderful gift. Amen.
17b This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me,"
declares the LORD.
This comes when we become servants of the Lord. He takes us in and provides everything we need. We can't ask for more. There is no more than God's forgiveness, peace and guidance to make us complete and completely at peace in God's arms.
I choose God. Thank You, God for allowing me to choose You above all else. Amen.
