Blogger has added a new feature for bloggers. There is a tab on our account for "stats". This tab shows who looks at posts to this blog, or rather where in the world people when they look at the blog. This is pretty amazing to me. As you can tell from the number of visitors count that there is not a lot of activity to my blog. The number reflects the number of visits since I put in the counter. I post something nearly every day - I've actually missed less than 5 days since I started blogging in January 2010. So having 1300 visits to the blog isn't a lot, especially since I (think I) get counted each time I preview it to see if it has relatively few typos and other errors.
But this stat tab says that since they started tracking it in May, there have been visits from outside the US. United Kingdom, Japan, China, Latvia, Germany and the Philippines. That astounds me. Of course, I don't know if the visitors read any posts, or just visited the site. I don't know if they will ever revisit, or tell anyone about it. I am amazed how God touches us. The notion that people from other countries and people away from my home might look at my blog is humbling. Maybe I need to be more careful with my wording, watching my spelling, making it more "professional" (but that implies that I get paid for it - which I don't). Maybe I have an obligation to be more thoughtful. I don't know. I'll have to think on that some. I already spend a lot of time on it. How much more makes sense? I don't know. I guess it depends on how it is used by others. I wonder.......
Thank you for looking at this blog. Thank you for posting comments as you feel moved to do so. I appreciate any and all comments. Let's me know someone other than me is reading it. ...kind of a God-pat on the back for taking time to do it.
God, As you see fit, please use me and this blog to reach others in a way that You want them reached. Thank you for using me in any way You see fit. Amen.

I feel moved to comment :)
ReplyDeleteSince I discovered your blog about hmmm only two weeks ago I instantly made your blog my homepage so I can log onto my computer with a fellow companion (you) who is seeking to please God. (So you'll always get at least one hit from me in the Philippines every day)
I am originally from California, but moved to the Philippines not too long ago.
Also, I don't think you need to be more "professional" because I personally relate to someone when they are more personal, but that's because I relate "professional" to censoring how you would normally speak/write.
Thank you for all that you do and I am quite sure others, like myself, enjoy your blog very much, but might not comment ;)
