Luke 12:2 (NIV) There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
Luke 12:2 (ESV) Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
Today, in the period of so much scientific knowledge and so many archeological finds and technological breakthroughs, many people want to explain stories of the Bible. They look for "reasonable" explanations of the events recorded there. I saw a video several years ago where they'd set up a simulation of the parting of the Red Sea. In the video, they determined that there was a logical scientific reason for the Red Sea to part for the Israelites to cross to get away from the Roman soldiers. I couldn't find that video but found an article about finding the location for Sodom and Gomorrah complete with sulfur pellets!
While science looks for answers and "learned" people search for explanations to explain the Bible in an attempt to discredit it or weaken its significance, we discover that the Bible tells us plainly to expect such explanations. "Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed or hidden that will not be known." Everything will be disclosed. The Bible tells us to expect explanations. God knew before all the modern scientific theory that there would be modern scientific theory, that technology would expand our knowledge.
God also knew that at the time of the Bible, people were not able to grasp the unknown. With that in mind, He did things that were miracles....until science explained them away. The problem with science is that it starts with the idea that everything existed always, that nothing "came into existence", that it was always there. I however, believe that God is the only thing that has always existed and that He created everything and started the motion that we know as life. I think all this scientific revelation is an affirmation of the Bible. That [t]here is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. Scientists and others just think they are the ones doing the disclosing. At some point, all things will be revealed. In the meantime, trust.
Listen or sing along: Unrevealed until its season, only God alone can see.
Amen.
