I am looking back over my previous posts and see that there is really no rhyme or reason to what is posted when. That is the beauty of reading a diverse batch of devotionals, Bibles and prayer material each day. I wonder if it would be helpful for me to try to categorize my thoughts and meditations. I'll have to think on that some.
I do need to say that I am getting so much from writing this blog. I am thinking, really thinking about some of the scripture and experiences I have to come up with something to write. Seems strange to me that I need to "post" a blog in order for me to spend the time and energy to think on a passage of scripture. Sometimes I do research and sometimes I meditate on a passage to try to figure out what it means to me on a given day. I wouldn't do that if I didn't "need" to post it to my blog.
I guess in some way, this blog is an accountability tool. We all need something to hold us accountable in our Christian journey. Accountability groups can be good but structure is important. Sunday School classes can be good if someone will call when you miss often, but you can usually skip those with no repercussions. Unless you are leading a program, ministry, Bible Study or the like, there are probably no real hooks to act as an accountability tool. For some reason, this blog is keeping me focused.
Not completely because I find myself having to look at God instead of inward sometimes. I had to write a note on my hand yesterday so I'd remember not to anticipate.....which means to me, "let God handle tomorrow as He sees fit when tomorrow gets here. In the meantime, don't worry about it."
so, Thank you Blog-world for drawing me to this Blogspot.
Dear Creator/Sustainer God, Thank you for using the creativity you've instilled in me for writing as an accountability tool drawing me closer to you. Amen.
